Quiet and quaint, Morin Heights is a village with 150 years of history of English and French speaking families living in harmony. A popular vacation spot with its own ski resort, Ski Morin Heights, the town offers the usual amenities of small stores, pharmacy, library, liquor store, and post office. Summer is punctuated with outdoor professional theater and the increasingly well-known "Route des Arts" featuring many of the region's rich array of artists and artisans. A variety of other activities from golf and horse back riding to white water rafting, biking, hiking, and camping are all available in the immediate vicinity.

In winter, the hills are alive with opportunities to downhill ski and snowboard. Hundreds of kilometers of cross-country ski and snowshoe trails link the Lower Laurentian region, many of which emanate from Morin Heights, and some trails are directly accessible from the Birchwild Estate.
